Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis

A long weekend in Northern France; Calais / St-Omer / Arras / Berck / Calais.

This is a grade 3 trip organised by our Ride Leaders: Gerard Veglio and Robert Harston and the trip itinerary is as follows:
Fri 25 May: Train London to Dover, arriving ca 11:40, in time for the 12:55 P and O sailing to Calais (arriving 15:25). It will then be a gentle ride via Watten to St Omer, where we spend the night. (ca 50km riding) Route Day 1
Sat 26 May: St Omer to Arras for night 2. (ca 90km riding) Route Day 2
Sun 27 May: Arras to Berck-Plage via the Seven Valleys for night 3. (ca 100km riding) Route Day 3
Mon 28 May: Berck to Calais in time for the 19:55 P and O sailing back to Dover (arriving 20:25); frequent trains back to London. (ca 90km riding) Route Day 4

P&O ferry is currently GBP40 return with bicycle; return train ca GBP30 with Network Railcard on HS1 from St Pancras (NB: departure from Victoria or London Bridge is also possible; similar price to HS1 with Groupsave (minimum 3 people)).

Accommodation (room only):
25 – 26 May (Saint-Omer): St Omer Ibis (EUR63 per room for up to 2 people)
6 – 27 May (Arras): Ibis Arras (EUR78 per room for up to 2 people)
27 – 28 May (Berck-Plage): Inter-hotel Neptune (EUR66 per standard room for up to 2 people; or EUR100 per sea-view room for up to 2 people)

Please register for joining details first and you will then need to contact the Ride Leaders for accommodation availability (or book direct with properties if room for sole occupancy is desired.) You will also need to make your own ferry booking.

Note: There is a GBP45 security deposit payable on registration to hold the accommodation. Riders will then pay the hotels directly during the trip. The deposit will be refunded after the trip, or if booking own accommodation.
